Equipment:
We have some items of equipment for loan in the community and we ask for a donation in lieu of it's repair and maintenance. These items include, a nebuliser, education videos, crutches etc.

Immunisations:
Routine vaccinations for children are free. They are usually given by the Practice Nurse between 9.00am. There is a Ministry of Health requirement for all those who have received a vaccination to wait for 20 minutes. Please bring children's Plunket books so that they can be kept up to date. Please contact the Practice Nurse if you have any immunisation concerns or queries.

We also have information about standard travel vaccinations and medication for those travelling to other countries. It is necessary to check up on health safety requirements well in advance of travel. We can provide most of the usual vaccinations for travel, but the more complex and unusual vaccinations needed are referred to the Travel Doctor listed in the front page of the White Pages.

Lab tests:
Blood tests and other laboratory tests are usually taken prior to midday in order to be ready for the courier. It is usual for abnormal test results only to be phoned to patients. If i you wish to check your results, please phone the practice nurse.

Recalls:
Our records are able to let us know when recalls are due for various preventative health measures such as immunisations, cervical smears, free diabetes checks and mammograms etc. We aim to let you know by either mail or phone when a recall is due, but if you think that you are due for one please make us aware in case our records are incomplete. Especially if you have changed your phone number or address, or if the results have not been forwarded to Mapua Health Centre.

Repeat prescriptions:
Prescriptions can be requested by phone or by emailing (email address prescription@mapuahealth.com). All repeat prescriptions take 24 hours to arrange.
